MiPHS Partnerships
The MiPHS endeavors to build partnerships with other organizations and institutions with parallel missions.
For years, we have enjoyed a close relationship with the William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan. We have co-sponsored and co-hosted speakers and other events. Our most significant collaboration has been working with the Clements Library to proofread the manuscript for the Directory of Early Michigan Photographers by longtime MiPHS member David V. Tinder (1926-2016) in preparation for its online hosting at https://clements.umich.edu/files/tinder_directory.pdf. The directory contains biographical information about virtually every known commercial and significant amateur photographer in the state of Michigan from the first known appearances in the 1840s into the early twentieth century.

Members of MiPHS also assist in Crowdsourcing a Time Machine: Picturing Michigan's Past, online assistance in cataloging the 60,000 real photo postcards in the David V. Tinder Collection of Michigan Photography, ca. 1845-1980 at the Clements Library.

We welcome opportunities to partner and collaborate with other organizations.
